Donelson Business News - May 2017

Thanks again to those that attended the community meeting about the proposed multi-family development occurring around 121 Donelson Pike.  My last e-blast included some updates and upcoming public hearings.  Click here for all the submittal documents, including the traffic study.  Remember that the rendering is preliminary.  They are aiming for the final product to be close to their other development at One MetroCenter, so check out that website to see the quality of that development.

Congratulations to Pennrose Properties, who along with a team from Holladay Properties, Smith Gee Studio, Barge Waggoner, Sumner & Cannon and RC Matthews, have been awarded the bid for development on the RTA property at Donelson Station.  Read the article in The Tennessean and official press release from RTA here.  The awarded bid calls for the team to have two-years to work out a final site plan.  I look forward to working with this team and engaging the community on creating a great development.

Another residential development coming to the 15th District is near Spence Lane on Lebanon Pike.  The Somerset will be a 25-town home development at 1600, 1602 and 1604 Lebanon Pike.  Read about the proposed development in The Nashville Post.  It’s scheduled to be heard at the Planning Commission on Thursday, June 8th.

A very exciting new restaurant is coming to 206 McGavock Pike is Nectar Urban Catina.  Congrats and thanks to Donelson neighbors Hunter & Jessalynn Hakanson who are opening up this great new business sometime this summer.  This area was actually my first rezoning opportunity to help support the vision of HJL Management’s properties in this area, which included Blues Vintage Guitars.  Their goal is to support local, small business and bring a variety to the heart of Donelson for all to support and enjoy.  The Eakes family has been an integral part of the Donelson community for decades and they have my special thanks for all they have done and continue to do.

Congratulations and welcome to Jonathan Herod and the new Donelson Fit Body Boot Camp.  Jonathan recently completed service in the US Army and has opened up his business in the Donelson Plaza.  They are an all-inclusive, premiere training facility and focus on thirty-minute, high intensity workouts in a group atmosphere with a trainer.  They are based on the metabolic theory of short bursts of high intensity, which makes your body burn fat for up to 38 hours after the exercise.  Jonathan is also a health coach and teaches eating whole foods, regulating blood sugars so that the body burns fat.  They also have an exclusive group on Facebook for accountability and recipes.  Doors are open for orientation and pre-trial workouts until the Grand Opening on May 20th from 9am until 3pm.  You can reach Jonathan at jonathan@donelsonfbbc.com or call 615-270-3894.

Congratulations to the Hampton Inn & Suites on Donelson Pike right near I-40, who completely remodeled the property and had a Grand Re-Opening celebration recently.  It looks beautiful and they rolled out the red carpet for the community to come see it.  Here’s Sharon Kipp and me having a good time at the event.
