Campaign Kick-Off at Grand Ole Opry House Studio A - 9-25-14

June Campaign News

We will soon we will be doing some phone banking, so if you’re interested in helping out with that or canvassing neighborhoods with me, please let me know.  I have a list going of folks who have expressed an interest in helping out with this, so I’ll be in contact shortly.

I began taking this campaign into our neighborhoods door-to-door a couple weeks ago and started with Bluefields.  I probably knocked on 250 doors in one afternoon.  Thank you to neighbors in Bluefields for sharing thoughts and feelings about where we were, are and going in the community.  It’s very helpful for me to hear directly from you.  I hit every street except for a couple, but will get back there as soon as I can.  If I missed you at home while coming around, I put a door hanger on your door that has all my contact info, including my cell number.  Please don’t hesitate to call me.

May Campaign News

This campaign has really kicked into high gear!  It’s been a month of high energy and a lot of work, but it’s been very rewarding and the rest of the campaign will be more of the same all the way until August 6.  I’m deeply thankful to each of you for your incredible support.  I couldn’t do this without you.

Before I left for Memphis, I began to put up campaign signs and I was blown away with the response from neighbors who saw them going up and asked for one for their yard too.  I am so thankful for this show of support and I actually ran out of my first batch of 125 signs, so I’ve placed another order and will get them to you just as soon as they are printed.  If you’d like a sign, you can let me know by visiting my website’s Get Involved page here.  Thank you!

April Campaign News

March has been a busy month with petitions being released and campaigns across the county gear up for full steam ahead.  We had four meet & greets this past month to discuss Donelson and sign my petition.  Big thanks goes to my wonderful hosts – Al & Stephanie Pruitt Gaines in my neighborhood of Donelson Hills, Mike & Karen Cowell in Merry Oaks (with help from Naomi Regensburg), David & Maggie Sidlinger in Bluefields (with help from Lara Tucker) and Julie Buhler, Emily Nix and the team at Phat Bites for hosting a great after work birthday party and meet & greet!  It was a great time at each getting to know new neighbors and listening to your thoughts and concerns for our community and in your neighborhoods.  The Davidson County Election Commission gives you two petition forms with 67 blanks on them each.  You only need 25 valid signatures to be placed on the ballot, but I successfully filled up every blank and my sincere thanks goes out to each of you who came to one of the meet & greets, took time to meet with me or invited me to your home to sign it.

Campaign News in the New Year

The house was packed with friends and neighbors for our “Pizza & Planning” meeting during the afternoon of Saturday, December 12th. Thanks to all that came! We enjoyed Fletcher’s Pizza and put together a strong campaign that will carry us to victory this August.

We added a YouTube Channel! Big thanks to Jamie Jean with Train Productions for creating the video of the campaign kick-off. I added a few other videos that I hope you enjoy.

There’s a new edition of the Hearts of the People blog, featuring our very creative neighbor Stephanie Pruitt, who was also recently appointed to the Metro Arts Commission! I also have a new edition of my Soul of a City blog, featuring the music and talent of Donelson's own Carol Grace Anderson.

Best,

Jeff Syracuse For Metro Council District 15 November Update

Dear Friends,

My sincere thanks to everyone who came to my campaign kick-off at the historic Grand Ole Opry Studio A.  The turnout was incredible and I’m blessed with the strong show of support from so many already!  This year has been very successful in building a solid foundation for the campaign and I’m excited about fully launching it next year.

If you haven’t visited my website yet, I invite you to check it out.  I’ve expressed my thoughts in the About section regarding what the campaign is about and detailed what areas I will focus on as your next member of Metro Council for the 15th District in the Issues section.

I hope you enjoy the two blogs I created – Soul of a City and Hearts of the People.  It’s always a joy for me to share music with others and talk about the people of Donelson who are making a big difference in our community.  Stay tuned for the next editions coming soon.

Below will be the core sections of my newsletter that I will be sending out regularly.  My disclaimer – There is a great deal of wonderful things going on in the community and I’m sure I will miss highlighting something.  Please don’t hesitate to let me know about something going on in your neighborhood, our schools, non-profits, or business that I can feature.  I want everyone to know as much about our great community as I can fit in one newsletter!

An event that I encourage you to put on your calendars is at McGavock High School on Monday, November 10th at 6pm.  The “preferred future” that has been created through the NashvilleNext process of updating the Nashville General Plan is ready for the public to give final input and learn how it will impact our Community Plan for Donelson-Hermitage-Old Hickory.  I’ve been at the very heart of this process over the past couple of years and am excited for everyone to see how important Donelson is being recognized as part of Nashville and Davidson County’s next 25-years of growth, development, and preservation.

Best,

Jeff Syracuse

Getting Involved and Campaign “Pizza & Planning” Meeting at Jeff’s House – Saturday, December 13th

Many have asked what they can do to help with the campaign and I’m so thankful for the support.  In addition to financially supporting the campaign, there are a number of ways you can help.

  1. Share this newsletter with your friends and encourage them to sign up for them on my website.  I look forward to putting them together regularly.
  2. As mentioned in the beginning of this newsletter, I have two blogs on my website and the whole online experience wouldn’t be possible without the talents of Peter & Vicki Beare at Bear Web Design.
  3. Like and share my Facebook page and follow me on Twitter.  I post community news, events, and music industry related content.
  4. Follow this link to let me know if you’d like to put a sign in your yard or at your business, host an event, help with canvassing, or anything else.
  5. Make sure your voter registration is up to date!  Go to the Nashville.gov page here for more information.

I’d like to invite you to come to my house at 222 Graeme Dr, Nashville, TN 37214 on Saturday, December 13th at noon for pizza and planning.  There are a number of specific things to work on for next year and it will be a great opportunity to put some strategies and plans together.  Let me know if you’d like to come over so I can order enough pizzas and drinks.

Thank you again for all the support, words of encouragement, and energy you’re putting into this campaign!  We’re off to a great start.  See you soon.

Best,

jeff-syracuse
