June Campaign News

We will soon we will be doing some phone banking, so if you’re interested in helping out with that or canvassing neighborhoods with me, please let me know.  I have a list going of folks who have expressed an interest in helping out with this, so I’ll be in contact shortly.

I began taking this campaign into our neighborhoods door-to-door a couple weeks ago and started with Bluefields.  I probably knocked on 250 doors in one afternoon.  Thank you to neighbors in Bluefields for sharing thoughts and feelings about where we were, are and going in the community.  It’s very helpful for me to hear directly from you.  I hit every street except for a couple, but will get back there as soon as I can.  If I missed you at home while coming around, I put a door hanger on your door that has all my contact info, including my cell number.  Please don’t hesitate to call me.

Last weekend I had a great meet & greet at Sherri Forrest’s house in Elm Hill Acres and am very thankful to Sherri for her warm hospitality and for everyone that came out.  I walked a couple of streets and spoke with some neighbors then as well before I got caught in the rain!  I’ll get back to the other streets as soon as I can.  Thanks to Councilman Phil & Judy Claiborne for attending, as well as Council Members Jason Holleman and Lonnell Matthews (both running for Council At-Large) and John Cooper, also running for Council At-Large.

Most neighbors know about my love and dedication to Donelson’s historic sites and while I’ve driven by the original farm house in Elm Hill Acres built in 1899, this was the first opportunity to actually knock on the door.  It’s a beautiful property!

I am honored to receive the endorsement of the IAFF Local 140.  I’m proud to support our first responders.  The recent investigate story by News Channel 5 concerns me that we are not supporting the maintenance and personnel needs of our Nashville Fire Department and Metro Nashville Police Department.
