Congratulations to Bluefield’s neighbor Lara Tucker, who was appointed by Mayor Barry to the Housing Trust Fund Commission.  Congrats as well to Natalie Corwin for being named one of the Nashville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 for 2016.

Fraud and Identity Theft can be difficult crimes to solve.  Metro Police has a helpful letter that they send out when this crime is reported with good information about what to do.  See below.

MNPD Fraud Alert

The Metropolitan Historic Zoning Commission and partners will hold the 2016 Old House Fair on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 9am to 3pm at Sevier Park Community Center at 3021 Lealand Lane.  The Old House Fair is a free day-long festival featuring new ideas, practical advice, innovative materials, and quality services for homeowners. Learn more about sustainable and historic products and services, and gain tips for planning and executing your project.  Presentation topics include:

  • Enhancing energy efficiency
  • Maintaining and restoring old houses
  • How to hire a contractor
  • Choosing suitable materials
  • Identifying appropriate design elements for specific architectural styles and eras

Exhibitors will include companies, retailers, and artists experienced in working with homes of many ages and styles, from Antebellum to Mid-century Modern.  Feel free to bring your young preservationist along with you.  Volunteers from Historic Travellers Rest Plantation & Museum will host a variety of children’s activities.  For more information, visit www.oldhousefair.org.

    Jeff has called Nashville home since 1998, moving here to complete his music degree at Middle Tennessee State University. He went on to complete his MBA in Technology Management from the Nashville campus of University of Phoenix, located in Donelson. Jeff was a first-time homebuyer in Donelson Hills in 2002 and soon became involved in his neighborhood and community.Jeff was born in Buffalo, New York. Jeff’s Dad retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel while stationed at Fort McPherson, Georgia after serving 20 years of Active and more than 11 years of Reserve service in Buffalo, NY, St Louis, MO and Atlanta, GA. Jeff’s parents are happily retired in Marietta, GA and enjoy the  warmer weather. His dad was President of the Georgia Department of the Reserve Officer’s Association and both he and his Mom stay involved in their neighborhood, civic organizations, and church. Jeff has one son, Joey, who attends Meigs Middle Magnet School.Jeff has been very active in the Donelson community for over a decade and has a deep appreciation and understanding of its rich history and a strong vision for a bright future.
